Summary

Lecture provides a review to "digging up" the historical documents involved with Western Canadian research in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan - the gateway & exit way for many immigrants arriving into the British colony & emigrants departing for the American mid-west and northwest regional settlements. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the historical framework of each of these three western provinces and the various major types of genealogical record groups they hold, the major repositories that hold these records, the informative nature of these records, and approaches for accessing these interesting Canadian documents.
