The lecture brings to focus the reasons for long-distance research, the effectiveness
of the strategy and the pitfalls. Discussion will centre around the objectives
of this type of research strategy, defining the resources (and the contents
thereof) available to you as an "armchair genealogist", getting to
know the repositories that may hold the information you seek along with the
methods for obtaining documents or information to-hand. Lastly, some general
discussion will entail the effective use of research logs and various types
to make your "armchair research" more effective & efficient.
