Our History

GEN-FIND Research Associates, Inc. was founded in 1985 by a number of professional genealogists (certified and otherwise) who wanted to promote the study of genealogy further by the public and to assist those members, who were already hobbyists in this field, to better "find their own roots" or missing relatives. It was in 1990 that the firm began Forensic Genealogy and has since become the leading service provider in the Canadian market with an international clientele and a record of proven international search experience.

As a result, GEN-FIND partners decided that they would consolidate their skills and develop a business that would provide four general goals, namely:

• To provide consultations to clients who wanted another perspective on their research and methods for potentially improving their genealogical finds on a particular matter;
• To provide full research services to clients in an effort to develop or expand on their genealogical information;
• To provide lectures on subject in the field of genealogy;
• To provide written/graphic presentation of compiled genealogies in the form of:

1. Family Group listings, graphic Pedigree Ancestral/Descendancy Charts, other Graphic Charting displays;
2. Compiled and desktop published Genealogy Anthologies and/or Family Histories according to the genealogical standard - Modified Register Format;
3. Ongoing development of points a) and b) noted above

Though times have changed and the firm is now incorporated & changed as well, GEN-FIND has become the leading Canadian full-service firm of genealogical researchers and consultants. Its wealth of expertise, though not limited to, primarily centers around the areas of research in Canada, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Australia and the US. Further, we specialize in Forensic Genealogy and 20th/21st Century research problems in locating descendants of already established pedigrees and lost or missing relatives, beneficiaries and heirs for the specifiedregions. Our firm will be happy to perform preliminary evaluations for prospective clients and advise them of the possibility of finding their intended information, as well as the suitability of GEN-FIND in doing so.

Because of many factors associated to historical records and record keeping, of course, GEN-FIND cannot guarantee positive results from any search but our client's interests are, and will be, of the utmost concern to us and we will endeavor to uncover every fact or source that we reasonably can in locating information for our client on any particular search request.
