Our
firm has been at the forefront of technological use in this field in providing
for effective informational and communication management by way of, not only,

administrators and support teams. As a result our work environment features

- Integrated with our case management system, Corel's WordPerfect Office software
is used extensively throughout this office, and runs in a Microsoft Windows
2000/98 networked environment for effective office administration & support
use. In addition, to provide for further accurate & efficient time use
by support staff, our office uses extensive Voice Recognition technology (Dragon
Naturally Speaking), where possible, for document production.
- Full-text indexing and filing of many documents for each retrieval is serviced
through the PageMill document management technology in providing ease to document
detail, access, and reproduction.
- PageMaker and PageKeeper are also major document manipulation and management
resources used within the office operating environment for imaging, as well
as record storage & management. Optical Character Recognition is provided
for by way of OmniPage and in-house CD-written technologies are used for efficient
& complete document reproductions for this efficient & effective record
storage & management.
- Our office uses the DacEasy Accounting Management system and the Sage TimeSlip
system for effective control of financial expenditures & billings as well
as accurate time-keeping of fee charge-outs, which the options and budgets
for can vary from client to client and from case to case.
- Ultimate Family Tree, Master Genealogist, and Family Tree Maker, the most
advanced and genealogically complete documentary programs today, are used
to maintain case genealogies and research results, as well as provide for
state-of-the art pedigree colour plotting, charting, & presentation.
- In-house databases are kept on our servers and CD-ROM delivery systems for
efficient & prompt access. Dial-up and Internet informational databases
are easily accessible from all internal computer systems.
- E-mail/fax is used where possible for internal and outside worldwide communication.
Because of its instantaneous nature and because it provides for quick relay
of documents & documentation, it is the preferred method of correspondence
for this office and used where possible. Most, if not all, of our agents and
correspondents now use this form of data relay providing timely retrieval
& transmission of research results and other written administrative correspondence.
- The corporate Internet website provides for frontline, easy accessibility
to information on our own services, hiring of a genealogist and/or record
agent, advice on genealogical research in general, suggestions for strategies
& resources for successful genealogical research, and numerous hypertext
links to "third-party sites" for many other references and source
materials.
